"Many times they afflicted me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me" (Ps 129:2).
I receive at least three emails a week that prompt me to sharpen my social media skills. Blog 2-3 times a week: Be sure to provide "take away value" for readers. Tweet something useful; profound. But truth is, at age forty-four, I don't always have something to say. My husband, who met me in my twenties, now holds a deep appreciation for the quieter version of passionate-me.
I launched this website as a means to share that which has been freely given to me, though not without cost. As you can see by my category selections, I've experienced some hard hits in life. The kind that will keep you down forever if you don't grab hold of God with fierce determination to overcome. When I write, it's what I write about. When I speak, it's what I speak about. Me and God. And how He taught me to move from one day to the next without losing hope and giving up. (Never a dull moment.) And the whole point of sharing stories about my life is to get you thinking about God, who works in miraculous ways through heartbreaking circumstances. You and God. (Never a dull moment.)
In spite of the fact that I don't always have something to say to you. You can rest assured: I pray for you. So, if it comes down to blogging simply because I'm supposed to even if I have nothing valuable to say, I choose to pray for you and trust that you see the value of a heartfelt prayer on behalf of another.
My current plan is to blog once a week--Tuesday. Maybe more. God can trump my plans anytime. My prayer is that God will direct my steps as I seek more opportunities to make a difference in the lives of women who for a variety of reasons are hanging on by a thin thread. And if this is you today, I encourage you to seek God with all your heart. All your heart. The parts that are confused. Fatigued. Lonely. Afraid. Maybe even angry at God. (It's okay to be mad at God. He's big. He can take it.) Then invite Christ into these places of the heart. Allow your Savior to be your Healer. And don't give up five minutes before the miracle. God is the master of "take away value." Spend time with Him. He will not leave you empty handed or empty hearted.
And if that's not helpful, I'll leave you with this:
What do you say when you don't have anything to say?
