Why I'm Not a Fan of Valentine's Day- Part 2

Valentine's Day. If your heart is broken. I lit a candle for you this morning. I prayed for your healing and restoration. I also prayed God's gift to you today would be a smile. A giggle. A belly laugh with a friend--even in the midst of sorrow.

Here's my "Hallmark" card to you:

You are valued. You are beautiful. You are strong. You are capable. You are a daughter of the Most High, and He love, love, loves you. You are my beloved sister. I'm so sorry for what you're going through. You are not alone.

And now, as promised, three highly inappropriate homemade Valentine's Day cards:

1) For Your Eyes Only. (An intimate message for the man who's addicted to porn):

I'm sorry about the fight we had a week before Valentines Day. If we hadn't fought, I would've bought a card that expresses my eternal love for you. But we did fight. You apologized, but then minimized the circumstances. And I don't know what we're supposed to do next. I feel so very unloved by you.

P.S. I bought myself a heart-shaped box of chocolates.

2.) Tailor-made for the "twelve-stepper" who re-established his sobriety date January 2. (After crashing the birthday of our Lord and Savior.)

I love you. Truly. I do. But if you ask me, six weeks isn't enough time for a girl to regain "that lovin' feelin'" after your splendid display of active addiction on Christmas Day.

P.S. I bought myself a heart-shaped box of chocolates.

3.) For that special someone who recently "strayed."

Happy. Valentine's. Day. In light of your betrayal, I've placed my ability to emotionally detach on autopilot. Consider it a testament of my love that you still walk amongst the living.

P.S. I bought myself the ingredients for Godiva chocolate martinis.

I should wrap with a Bible verse so I don't go to hell for my blatant use of the very sarcasm my pastor admonishes.

Even in laughter the heart may ache, and the end of joy may be grief.

(Proverbs 14:13)
