Wisdom in Decision Making
Hello, Hello, and Happy Spring Break! Today, I'm posting an excerpt from a previous post. I don't know about you, but I need wisdom and lots of it.
(excerpt)
God is not in a hurry. When I feel pressured to make a quick decision, I pause and remember, it's not the nature of God to pressure His children. His presence offers the peaceful resolve that surpasses human understanding. When a decision must be made in a timely manner the answer comes when we slow down, and listen.
Sometimes God speaks to our hearts. Other times He speaks through the wise counsel of a trusted mentor, pastor, counselor, or friend. Regardless of the channel, God remains the source of wise counsel.
How about you? Do you have an important decision to make?
Prayer: God, I have an important decision to make. I lay my desires at Your feet. I will wait on Your instruction. If I am to seek wise counsel, please prompt me to seek, then trust You to send the best person to advise me. If You want to speak to my heart directly, help me to take the time to listen quietly for You.
However the answer comes. I will remember that godly answers contain godly characteristics. Thank You for setting the parameters in James 3:17, for wise decision making. Amen.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
- pure
- peaceable
- gentle
- willing to yield
- full of mercy
- without partiality
- without hypocrisy
